Run Background Task – not available¶
"Run Background Task" is a command type that exists in the data model of actions but is not implemented in the current version. This page explains what happens if an action contains it and what to use instead.
1. At a glance¶
| Status | Not available – not offered in the action editor, not carried out at runtime |
| What to use instead | Scheduled actions, business rules and background processing |
2. Settings¶
None. The command cannot be added in the action editor.
3. Behaviour¶
An action can contain the command only if it was created outside the action editor – for example in a sketch from an older installation, or by the AI assistant that edits the configuration. When such an action reaches the command:
- A warning is written to the log.
- The action ends at this point. Neither the commands inside "Run Background Task" nor the commands after it run.
If you find such a command in an action, remove it and move its inner commands to a scheduled action or a business rule.
