Label Block – a text on the dashboard¶
The label shows a piece of text: a heading, an explanation between other widgets, a greeting with the name of the user. The text is computed by an expression, so it can change with the user, the date or a global value.
This page is part of the widget reference.
1. At a glance¶
| Purpose | Shows a text |
| Typical use | Section headings, a greeting, a short explanation, a value the user copies |
| Related | HTML for formatted content, Badge for a short coloured value, Card for a key figure |
2. Settings¶
In addition, the widget has the settings every widget has, including "Flush".
| Setting | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
| "Content" | The text, computed by an expression | none – required |
| "Tooltip" | Text shown when the pointer rests on the label | none |
| "Copy To Clipboard" | A copy button appears while the pointer is over the text and copies the shown value | off |
Font size, weight, alignment and colour are set with the typography settings every widget has.
3. Behaviour¶
- The text is drawn as plain text; HTML in it is shown as text, not interpreted. Use an HTML widget for formatted content.
- With "Copy To Clipboard" the label reserves the width of the button, whether it is shown or not, so the layout does not jump. After copying, the button confirms with "Copied".
- With "Auto Refresh" the text is evaluated again at the interval.
4. Examples¶
A greeting. "Content": an expression that joins "Good morning, " and the first name of the current user. "Font Size" Large, "Font Weight" SemiBold.
A section heading. "Content" "Open escalations", "Flush" on, so the heading sits flush with the grid below it.
